Boston, Mass.

EiQ Networks, a pioneer in hybrid security as a service, today announced that company advisor John Linkous will speak at the Great New England Credit Union Show, held on April 27 at the Boxboro Regency Hotel & Conference Center in Boxborough, Massachusetts.

Linkous’ breakout session, “Cybersecurity Implications for Risk Management and FFIEC Compliance,” will take place from 10:00-10:45am. His presentation will provide an overview on the current cybersecurity landscape and the steps credit unions and financial organizations should take to protect data and financial assets as well as member data. Linkous will also discuss how credit unions can meet FFIEC regulations through a comprehensive IT security program that includes 24/7/365 security monitoring and vulnerability management.

“Keeping up with the continual shift in the cybersecurity landscape is challenging for everyone, but financial organizations and credit unions have much more to lose if they fall victim to a massive data breach,” said Linkous. “My session will relay information that will help bring credit union CISOs and IT executives up-to-date on strategies and solutions that their organizations need to implement to mitigate the risk from the latest threats and cybersecurity breaches that could put member data and their organization in jeopardy.”

His presentation will also offer takeaways and best practices that will help credit unions assess the current state of their cybersecurity program and the actions they need to take to make sure they are adequately protected, including:

  • Options available to credit unions and financial services organizations to help mitigate cyber attacks
  • The link between meeting FFIEC compliance mandates and a cybersecurity program that includes continuous security monitoring, vulnerability management, and patch management
  • Current security threats, including ransomware, malware, and zero-day threats facing credit unions and the financial services industry

John Linkous brings more than 20 years of technology management and consulting experience, information security and regulatory compliance to EiQ Networks. More information about his session is available on the Great American Credit Union Show website.
