Vijay is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of building successful businesses delivering enterprise-class solutions. Before starting Cygilant, he founded AppIQ, an application storage resource management provider acquired by Hewlett Packard in October 2005, and WebManage Technologies, a policy-driven content delivery solution provider acquired by Network Appliance in August 2000.
Vijay is the co-owner of five patents for the architecture and design of the WebManage Content Delivery system, Adaptive Policy Engine, and SLA Management. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics and instrumentation as well as an MBA and post-MBA degrees from Baruch College in New York. He is currently enrolled in the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School.
Mike Tyrrell is a partner at Venrock, a premier venture capital firm based in San Francisco, having joined the company in 1999. He headed corporate development at Spyglass for nine years, a Venrock-backed portfolio company, taking it public in 1995. Spyglass licensed Mosaic, the first Internet browser, to many of the world’s leading software, online services, and device companies, including Microsoft. Before Spyglass, he held positions with start-ups, Multiflow Computer and Celerity Computing, both UNIX systems pioneers. Mike began his career at Prime Computer. He serves on the board at ZoomInfo, a marketing and sales lead solutions provider. He has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Matthew has worked at several private equity firms in the U.S. and Europe. He is also an entrepreneur. His deal and board experience is concentrated in growth equity investments, but also has experience in leveraged buyouts and restructuring. Before founding Arrowroot Capital, Matthew was a Managing Director and Head of the Acquisitions Team at Actua Corp. (NASDAQ: ACTA; fka ICG Group). While at Actua, Matthew was a lead or active investor and board member of several companies including MSDSonline (nka VelocityEHS), Parchment, Instamed, and InvestorForce (acquired by NYSE: MSCI). He was also an investment committee member of Rittenhouse Ventures, an early stage VC based in Philadelphia. Prior to Actua, Matthew worked in the technology group at TA Associates in the Boston and London offices. During his tenure, Matthew was an active investor, including board meeting attendance with: Creditex (acquired by IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE)), Smartstream Technologies (acquired by Dubai International Financial Centre), and OpenLink Financial (acquired by the Carlyle Group). Prior to TA Associates, Matthew worked at Platinum Equity in Los Angeles, where he was involved with Platinum’s investment in Broadspire Services (acquired by Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRD.B)). Matthew was also the co-founder of Quewey, a digital media company based in Philadelphia. Matthew received a M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Boston College.
